| Jakunen Kokoromi walked into the large private training room. He had saved simultaneously with another genin, Naoto, to rent the place. It had cost him plenty, although he knew that the facilities equipment would allow him to train quickly and efficiently here. Jaku planned to create a new, the most advanced, of his blood jutsu so far: a blood clone. Jaku of course knew how to create basic academy clones, but making one out of a real substance would require much more effort and skill. Still, Jaku had high hopes for the day.
Turning back toward the door he brought in the three large cows he had taken from the village experimental stores. Each would provide 40 pints of blood for Jaku in case he ran low that day, which he probably would: each clone would take 4 pints of blood to form, and another 8 to make the body. Still, Jaku should be able to reabsorb the blood, if he was lucky...

| "HEY!! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!"
"Sorry."
Was one of the more tame replies that echoed throughout the village from disgruntled passersby as Naoto weaved between them all. His vision was completely obscured by piles of books which towered up far past the tip of his untamed hair. He had raided every library in Konohagakure starting with the ninja academy for anything to aide him in his effort. Books, training scrolls, old academy notes had taken and kept over the years, were but a few of the lubriciously long list of items he'd gathered and stacked into his arms. The first, most obvious, sign that he needed training? The fact that his arms were wobbling and buckling under the weight of his inventory. He embarrassed himself far more often and endlessly worse than anyone else ever could.
A rumble of thunder ricocheting from cloud to cloud inspired him to pick up the pace whilst a single drop of long awaited rain dissolved into his jacket fabric. With moments to spare before the downpour had begun Naoto stumbled through the door of the large training facility, closed it with his foot, and halfway threw his stack onto the plain tatami mat flooring. The room itself was decent enough. A high ceiling illuminated by decorative paper lanterns, two simple Shoji doors including the one behind him with matching windows at regular intervals, and walls which were barren aside from decorative scrolls unraveled proudly which dangled to kiss the mat they shadowed over. It was spacious enough and not terrible to look at. He'd gotten his money's worth, something that always brought a smile to his face.
He threw his belongings down on the opposite side of the room as Jakunen and shook his hair back into "place" before plopping down with his back against the wall and legs outstretched. It was only once he had rested and allowed his stress level to drop did the other inhabitants catch his attention.
"EH?!"
The last of a trio of bovine reluctantly entered through the other door followed by his roommate for however long it took to train. His eyes bulged whilst a sweat drop materialized on the back of his head in typical anime fashion.
"Um...uh...hi and all...but...er...why are there...cattle...here?"
He asked when his arm finished gathering a literal item pile around him large enough for him to hide in.

| Jaku stared in shock at the large number of books and other random bits of equipment that Natao had brought with him the the training room, then over at his own meager stack. Jaku had brought only three books: A beginner's guide to clone creations, Creating unique clone creations, and his own personal journal filled with notes over Jaku's own abilities. Jaku wondered what Natao was planning to practice that day, what sort of advanced jutsu would require such materials? Jaku pondered for a moment, then realized that the other ninja seemed to be hiding in a fortress of reading material. It took Jaku a moment to recall the question, and the expression on his face dropped into one of extreme embarrassment, his mouth flattening into a line. He had forgotten that Natao didn't know anything about Jaku's rather... weird jutsu style, and Jaku knew that his style could be considered unusual at best. He hoped that he wouldn't scare the other Genin away.
"They're for... refueling later on if I get tired!" Jaku sputtered out an obvious lie. He would see how the other genin reacted to his jutsu first. If things went too wrong, then Jaku would have to lead the other cow outside and do his... business privately.
"So what're you working on today? Some new and mysterious jutsu?"

| "Re...fuel...ing?"
He asked utterly dumbfounded as his voice rose with each syllable until it eventually cracked. Naoto ran his hand through his hair and blank multiple times. If he were a computer he'd have a flashing error message which would announce "DOES NOT COMPUTE" for his temporary companion to hear.
'Is he...going to eat them or something!? While they're still ALIVE!? UuUuUuUuUurgh...'
Then there was a part of him that was curious, dangerously so. But he could tell this made the other boy uncomfortable so he let it drop.
"...Alriiiiiight...I won't pry..."
Naoto was, in all sense of the word, a nerd. A rare breed of nerd that was mildly charismatic when he needed to be, significantly attractive, didn't require corrective lenses, and was in decent shape but a nerd nonetheless. There was no technique he couldn't develop once he understood, studied, and developed the initial mechanics behind it. Creating a jutsu was more than chakra and handsigns. There was an entire technical side behind the process that many people overlooked entirely. Step one was the reason for all of these things.
Research.
He was already digging through the pile, literally throwing things off to the side into separate piles to his sides and behind him when Jaku asked his question. Instantaneously he lit up at it, warming up to Jaku considerably with all the usual awkwardness gone from him. Nothing enthralled him more than to rave on about a project in his head.
"Well...I'm going to work on increasing my chakra control first and foremost. The jutsu I've been brainstorming would be crazy to attempt otherwise, plus it'll open the door to actually let me try other things I have in mind. Once that's settled I'll dig into my research--"
He gestured to the gargantuan pile around him with a look of accomplishment.
"--and work on developing a new technique. If it works right..."
A massive smirk spread across his face enthusiastically.
"...I'll be able to combat a full three-man-cell by myself if I have to. What about you?"

| Jaku mentally thanks the other genin for not pushing the issue of the cows. The time would come for that...
Jaku had thought for only moments when the other genin began to launch into his explanation. Chakra control seemed to be the main focus, and the other genin didn't go into too much detail about what he would do with that heightened control. Chakra control had never been a worry for Jaku: he drew his energy from the blood, and the cost was pretty constant. It was controlling the dark liquid that was the trouble for Jaku, and not something he looked forward to working on. He knew that if he ever wanted to use higher level techniques he would have to learn to hold in more blood. But that was a task for another day.
"Oh, I'm just working on creating a new type of clone that'll be very... useful in battle."
Very useful indeed. If Jaku's clones did what he wanted, they would be able to use at least some of the techniques that his main body used.

| ...A cow clone?
Again he tried to make the pieces fit in his head as to how cattle would aide in the production of a bunshin, tangible or otherwise. Even his brilliant mind failed to produce an answer of adequate plausibility. He'd unraveled the science behind jutsu in a way that would put the infamous sharingan to shame yet for the life of him, failed to fathom how a cow would help in anything jutsu related. But he did have the know-how he needed. This thought pleased him immensely. Knowing his hard work had paid off was the only thing which caused him to swell with hubris.
"I-I see. Well. Good luck Jaku-san. If you need my help with anything, or to borrow some of my notes, don't hesitate to ask. I'll make myself useful however I can and will try not to disturb your...erm...uh...friends too much..."
His lips were burning to ask the question obviously on his mind but his brain was stronger than the overwhelming need to know something. So he summoned every ounce of self-control his body could stand and kept his earlier promise not to pry. Quickly he undid his plain blue jacket along with the black t-shirt he wore under it, leaving his toned upper torso exposed. Although he didn't have a physique to be embarrassed of it left him slightly self-conscious. Oh well. It couldn't be avoided. It was necessary for the training.
He scatted his pile in a perfect circle around him with his body at the center then opened a the first book he had selected...

| Jaku waited for the other boy to walk over to the other end of the room before turning to his own books, and settling down to read, pulling A Beginner's Guide to Clone Creations toward him and opening into to the first page, groaning mentally as he looked at the small, cramped type that filled the thick book. How could making a clone be so difficult? Seems like it would just be shaping and coloring... still, Jaku guessed that creating a new type of clone would be more complicated. Jakue looked through the index, seeing a section labeled "Clone techniques already created". Jaku quickly flipped to the section, and realized that it took up the second half of the book. Flipping through the alphabetical listings, Jaku quickly stumbled upon "blood" and smiled. This would be much easier than the he thought, and settled in to read the description.
Blood Clones are generally frowned upon by most ninja, as creating a single clone would take enough blood to kill a person, and as such they are considered a forbidden technique. Blood clones also have few advantages, and most can be mimicked by a simple water clone. The only true advantage of the blood clone is the unusually low Chakra cost, only as much as a C-Ranked Jutsu
Jaku read on, however the book contained little instruction on how to form the blood clone. Luckily, the book referenced another book, Advanced Clone Creation, the same book Jaku had. It was no surprise: the two books were really the main source of all information on clones anyway. Jaku flipped to the other book, and settled in to look for the information on the blood creations.
